Livestock Health Promotion Activity

Ogaden Welfare and Development Association has a commitment to promote the Animal Health in Somali Region where the most dependable Agricultural production in the Region is Animal production because the majority of the population is considered pastoralist where they pay more efforts on breeding the Animals rather than Agricultural activities.
Therefore, OWDA pays much consideration to the Animal health care promotion by curing those are sick with Animal diseases and making vaccination the others in many Zones in the Region particularly D/bour and Korehay Zones. And established veterinary section that carries out this activity regularly. This project is useful for the pastoral community and brings about significant change to the pastoral people livelihood in the Region.
More than 67000 of livestocks including Camel, sheep, goat and Cattle in the two zones have been cured and mad vaccination and trained veterinary taskforce team in each District from pastoral community in order to make supervission and reporting when livestock diseases is being experienced in the area.
